When Albion Public School and Petersburg Public School merged, the future of the Petersburg campus was told. Yet for nearly 25 years, it continued to welcome students and staff, offering a safe, close-knit feel.

Like many other consolidations, the closure of the Petersburg campus was inevitable. Sad, yes, but inevitable. As a community - spanning generations of students, educators, family members, and other partners - we were granted two years to mourn and shift our perspective. While there will always be memories to lean on, we're now focused on the future.

It's time for our residents, extended family members, and friends of Petersburg to come together and see the opportunity that lies ahead.

This is your chance to do what this community has become known for: uniting together to create an incredible place to live, work, and visit. Please take some time to explore the new destiny for the former Petersburg School building. Then join us in our mission to repurpose the space into meaningful services and amenities that support all ages, residents and visitors alike, for generations to come.

In the spirit of community, this project is being led by a newly formed non-profit: the Petersburg Community Foundation. This organization allows us to listen to our community and raise funds to directly address what matters most.
