The repurposing of the former school building in Petersburg is possibly the largest project our community has undertaken in recent years. Generations of our families have walked the halls, played in the gym, and considered this space a foundational element of our town. Your gift will play a significant role in helping to preserve this treasure so that more people can enjoy the space well into the future. This is your opportunity to be part of Petersburg's next chapter.

Phase I Goal: $350,000

When you give at least $1,000 to support the repurposing of the school building, your name and/or business will be featured on a donor wall inside.

Please consider the impact you can have on Petersburg’s future. By spreading your gift over multiple years, you can also help us work toward preparing for the long term needs of the space, including utilities, upkeep and future renovations.

Pledging your gift over five years can make giving a little easier (example: commit to $1,000/year each year = a $5,000 gift and a higher level on our donor wall). Not sure how it works? Ask any member of our steering committee!

By creating a 501c3 charitable organization, the Petersburg community is able to raise funds needed to maintain the building while giving donors the maximum tax benefit for their gift. It also opens the door to multiple ways you can give, including one-time and long-term options to make it as easy as possible for you to support this important initiative:

  • ACH, Regularly Occurring Gifts

  • Commodities (grain or livestock)
